Synopsis

I was drawn to this one, not only because it was a Karen Erickson novel but also because I loved the cover. It looked like a swoon-worthy read and I was not disappointed. "Jane's Gift" was a sweet festive story that was perfect for this time of year. Reading this book felt a lot like stepping into one of those Hallmark movies that are playing endlessly on TV at the moment. It was the kind of book to read on a snowy day with a mug of hot chocolate by your side. 

This story focuses on single mum, Jane and the local sexy fireman, Christian. Jane had been through an awful few years, leaving her all alone to bring up her three children. Enter Christian who had the makings of being Jane's hero. I did find the first half of  this book a little slow paced, however I understood why Jane and Christian's relationship had to be a slow burner rather than a speedy insta-love story. Too much had happened in Jane's life for her to jump into Christian's bed, although I wouldn't blame her if she had! Lol. 

Jane was a sweet character, who truly deserved to be loved and cared for. Christian was the perfect guy for her. There really wasn't anything bad to say about the hunky firefighter. I especially loved that he didn't hold back with his feelings for Jane, even though he was someone who usually ran from commitment.  For Jane everything changed.
